Known as MB1, Mercedes-Benz U.S. Headquarters is located on 12 acres in Sandy Springs, GA. The 200,000-square-foot building currently houses 800 employees and will be undergoing an expansion to add an additional 500 people by August 2026. The sleek and modern building has a spacious atrium that divides the building into North and South Work Bars, and open-plan office spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows. There is also a conference center, coffee bar, restaurant-quality cafe, fitness center and more.
Designed to LEED Silver standards, the building was designed to operate at least 13% more efficiently than a standard code-compliant building and uses 50% less irrigation water than standard turf landscaping, as well as 35% less water than a standard office.
For this project, MillerClapperton fabricated and installed Metal Composite Material (MCM) panels, Sunshades, Screenwalls and Profiled Single-Skin panels. Approximately 9,000 square feet of MCM panels are featured at the entrance as the backdrop to the infamous Mercedes-Benz logo, while the entire entry is shaded with more than 4,000 square feet of Sunshades and Screenwalls offer a unique element to tie in the parking garage.
