Commercial Motor Vehicle Driver (Non-CDL)

Production Manager

Role Summary

We are seeking a licensed CMV (NON-CDL) truck driver who will be responsible for the vehicle’s safe operation and timely delivery of materials. You will drive a truck attached to a 24’ to 34’ gooseneck trailer, maintain the equipment assigned to you, and work within other areas of our Production Department.

Responsibilities & Essential Duties
  • Drive safely and always use the correct PPE for a given task.
  • Timely delivery of materials.
  • Load and unload materials as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and other relevant information.
  • Maintain, refuel, and keep the company vehicle clean and professional looking.
  • Daily CMV pre-trip inspections of truck and trailer. 
  • Communicate with on-site contacts for deliveries.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and laws related to trucking and driving.
  • Follow company accident procedures as required.
  • Maintain a digital timecare.
  • Maintain a DOT driving log.
  • Report all mechanical problems to the Facilities and Maintenance department.
  • Must have a professional and positive attitude with customers and coworkers.
When Not Driving
  • Performing tasks in Production such as fabricating metal composite material (MCM), HPL, and fiber cement panels for engineered wall systems.
  • Work as an operator or helper on a CNC Router.
  • Cut aluminum extrusions on the chop saw and band saw.
  • Building crates that include working with air nail guns and air staplers.
  • Using power/hand tools such as screw guns, drills,  metal snips, and other small hand tools.
  • Always keep your work area clean.
  • Other tasks assigned by shop leaders.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years.
  • Must be able to pass E-Verify.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • CDL is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Must be able to pass MVR check and pre-employment checks.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT medical exam as a pre-employment check and get rechecked annually.
  • Must be willing to work in our Production Department when no driving is required.
  • Must wear approved safety glasses, equipment, gear, etc. (PPE).
  • Must be able to use power/hand tools such as a screw gun, caulk gun, protractor, snips, etc.
  • Must have attention to detail and be able to follow directions.
  • Must be physically healthy to occupy and work in a fast-paced environment. Lifting of 75 lbs., bending, kneeling, and other physical activities are required for this position.
  • Must be willing to work in multiple areas of the Production shop.
  • A high degree of accuracy and exactness is essential in the performance of this job.
  • It is sometimes necessary to work additional hours above and beyond a typical 40-hour workweek to complete our schedule needs. Overtime and weekend work are required.
