Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED recently opened its new corporate headquarters and sales center in Birmingham, AL. The 576,000-square-foot facility brings hundreds of employees together at a 103-acre campus in the city where the company got its start more than 120 years ago. The new “Gateway to Birmingham,” Williams Blackstock Architects designed the campus to be highly visible from Interstate 20/59 and carries Coca-Cola touches inside and out, including the Coca-Cola trademark “Dynamic Ribbon” featured across the front of new headquarters building.
The corporate headquarters, distribution warehouse and sales center was built on the grounds of the former Stockham Valves and Fittings property. Home to the company’s Central Region and North Alabama Division headquarters, the facility supports the company’s operations in Carbon Hill, Cullman, Florence, Oxford and Tuscaloosa; and is the distribution hub for Coca-Colar products for Jefferson County and 11 surrounding counties. The warehouse features the Vertique case picking system, which is among the most advanced in the beverage industry.
MillerClapperton fabricated and installed approximately 20,000 square feet of Metal Composite Material (MCM) panels on the campus office building, greeting center, and classic foods building.
