#1 ASK THE PANEL GUYS TALKS FIBER CEMENT

This week, president Zeke Miller discusses fiber cement and the types of facade materials available from our partner Equitone, as well as color selection.  In this episode, Zeke also reviews panel sizes, the difference between exposed and concealed fasteners, and how your selection can affect panel size and fabrication.  To see the full video, click here.  Don’t miss a future episode of Ask The Panel Guys!  Subscribe to our YouTube channel here.

#2 MIT TEAM REINVENTS BUILDING

Who built the pyramids may be an age-old question, but we do know that humans have moved monumental stones by hand for thousands of years.  Two companies, Matter Design, and the building materials company Cemex Global R&D, are collaborating to return to those ancient methods by introducing a new way to move heavy concrete slabs with nothing more than our hands.  Read more about their collective research and what an architectural element looks like, if it could be moved by a single person here.

#3 ARCHITECTURE AND SEA

When does climate become an advantage for architects?  Changing climates and extreme weather can add difficulty to any project, but the near-perfect coastal weather of Mexico allows for the creation of microclimates and spaces that fade into the transition of what is inside and the outdoors.  Celebrating this tropical oasis, ArchDaily has compiled 17 outstanding projects from different architects, which showcase some of the most beautiful sites in the country.  Click here to see more.
