ENR Southeast recently announced the winners of its 2023 Regional Best Projects awards program. A total of 83 submissions were received and judged by a three-person panel, resulting in 31 winning projects across 16 categories. The top projects were recognized for their “quality of work and overcoming challenges creatively and effectively, and for innovative ideas implemented on the job site.”
Of the 31 awarded projects, 16 earned Best Project honors and 15 projects were given Awards of Merit, including three projects that MillerClapperton had the pleasure to partner on: Orlando International Airport, Terminal C (Best Project, Airport/Transit), David L. Conlan Rehabilitation Center (Award of Merit, Health Care), Mark Anthony Brewing (Best Project, Manufacturing).

Conlan Rehabilitation Center is the first step, of many, in the modernization of Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center campus. This new facility is a one-of-a-kind regional rehabilitation hospital, thoughtfully designed with the latest state-of-the-art technology and programs to better serve patients and the surrounding communities.
This new specialized hospital boasts some impressive numbers, such as 70 private patient rooms, a 9,300 square-foot outpatient clinic, an outdoor therapy challenge garden, an aquatic therapy program, and a center for independent living. For this project, MillerClapperton fabricated 49,690 square feet of Metal Composite Material and 4,035 square feet of Profile Single Skin.
