“From designing a striking new academic building in Denver, to restoring a classic Stanford White building in the Bronx, to bringing accessibility to the historic University College in Toronto, architects and contractors who completed 19 outstanding projects across the United States and Canada won awards from the Copper Development Association (CDA) in the 16th annual edition of its North American Copper in Architecture (NACIA) program.
“This year’s winners applied the beauty of copper to a wide variety of building types,” said Larry Peters, project manager at CDA. “Copper fulfills an amazing variety of practical and aesthetic functions. The work of these architects and building professionals shows why copper’s adaptability sets the highest standard for sustainable roofs, cornices, cladding, wall systems, and decorative ornamentation.” You can read more about this year’s winners below or view photos of winning projects here.

Kermit Baker, PhD, Hon. AIA, chief economist at AIA, says, “The forecast for nonresidential construction activity remains healthy through the second half of 2023 and into 2024.”

Recommendation: Constructing with Care Produced By: DPR Construction “As in many parts of their daily lives, consumers now expect virtual collaboration and technology to access convenient, efficient and seamless healthcare regardless of whether it is in-person or virtually. To accommodate this growing consumer shift, provider organizations have begun introducing new leadership roles focusing on experience, digital, transformation and innovation. While these roles have not traditionally been engaged as key stakeholders in capital facility projects, each is responsible for components necessary to enable healthcare consumers to experience unified, organization-wide touchpoints, both for in-person and virtual care.
Host Leslie Tulio talks with the experts about training the next generation of healthcare CIOs, how the omnichannel approach leads to more personalized and empathic care, how planning and leadership work in tandem to bring the physical and virtual care spaces together, and the role patients and providers play to create an integrated care experience.”
