#1 EQUITY IN ARCHITECTURE

Equity in Architecture (EQiA) was founded in 2016 by members of the AIA Georgia Board of Directors who sought to expand the group’s programming and community outreach from the city of Atlanta to the entire state of Georgia.  The EQiA is a committee of the Georgia Chapter of the AIA, which is comprised of three subcommittees whose mission it is to make the A/E/C industry as equitable as possible.

Two year’s after their inception, the committee launched a Mini-MBA for emerging professionals, which introduces basic business principles of the design profession.  The four-part seminar is designed to empower the emerging professional by offering insights into how a firm is created, managed, and sustained – as well as what role individuals can play in their firm’s success.  The series is also recommended as a valuable resource to anyone in the A/E/C industry.  To learn more or to register, click here.

#2 DEFINING MOMENTS IN ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY

For more than a century, photography has experienced a broad spectrum of production and architecture has frequently played a leading role in what has become an instrument for cultural construction.  A recent article from ArchDaily explores examples of significant productions within the field of photography that deal with the theme of architecture in three key moments or approaches: ubran photography, modern photography, and architecture within fine art photography.  Read more here.

#3 MILLERCLAPPERTON CARES RAISES $20,000 FOR KPF

Today is the final day of our fundraising efforts for the Kyle Pease Foundation and we are delighted to announce that we have reached our goal of raising $20,000 to help get the Pease brothers to Kona.  We have said it before, but we are sincerely grateful to all of our staff, friends, and family members, in addition to our corporate partners who generously donated in support this campaign.  You raised an amazing $15,144, while MillerClapperton Cares’ charitable initiative donated an additional $5,000 to push us over the top.  Way to go!  We hope you will continue to follow their journey on social media as Kyle and Brent prepare for the Ironman World Championship.  Follow The Kyle Pease Foundation on Instagram @walkingwithkp and MillerClapperton @thepanelguys for the latest news and updates. We wish them luck in Kona!

There is still time to contribute.  If you would like to make a donation, please use the donate button below.
