A new, multipurpose facility with transportation options for public transit is under construction in the City of Albany in Georgia. The project will include improved safety and security measures, as well as ADA accessible access points. Additional amenities will be available to the community such as a computer lab with several computer stations and a room for community meetings. MillerClapperton will fabricate and install 5,000 square feet of Metal Composite Material and 1,700 square feet of Terracotta for the project, which is expected to be complete this Fall.

“The International High-Rise Award 2022/23 has nominated 34 outstanding projects from 13 different countries to compete for this year’s edition. Selected by the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM), the shortlisted buildings were picked from more than 1,000 new high-rises worldwide dating from the past two years. As in previous years, a considerable decline in high-rises completed was to be observed. Nine of the towers are located in China, and seven in other parts of Asia. Even as contractors report increases in business, economic concerns mount over what could be a recession. Contractors are likely gaining market share, but there’s not a lot of spending growth according to Anirban Basu, chief economist at Associated Builders and Contractors. In a mid-year construction update, non-residential construction spending dropped 5.9% between February 2022 and May 2022, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. According to Basu’s analysis of the American Institute of Architects’ Architecture Billing Index, multifamily construction is still going strong, and while a recession is unlikely in 2022, “2023 is fraught with risk.”
