IN THIS WEEK’S FRIDAY5

This week, MillerClapperton made a big announcement – we have a new home! The company has moved operations to a new, state-of-the-art facility 20 minutes outside downtown Atlanta. MillerClapperton’s rapid growth in recent years, combined with recent investments in equipment and technology, necessitated the move.

The company moved into its first office in 1984 and established its first fabrication facility in 1988, then moved to a larger fabrication facility in 1994, where the first CNC router table was installed. MillerClapperton expanded by moving its company headquarters in 2001 and doubled its size again in 2016 by adding a second office, which was dedicated to drafting, engineering, and field operations, with a dedicated metal shop. The two buildings offered a combined 17,000 square feet of office space and 72,000 square feet of plant space.

After more than two years that included the location search and construction, the company’s new headquarters is located at 8050 Troon Circle in Austell, GA. Click below to read more about our exciting move.

Albert Einstein once said, “Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them.” The same applies to humanity’s quest to be better or go bigger, especially when it comes to record-breaking heights. “City skylines have always been defined by those in power during every period in history,” according to ArchDaily, as commercial skyscrapers in recent decades have continued to stretch taller. Among the tallest buildings in the world right now are the Wuhan Center Tower, Shangai Tower, and the tallest, the Burj Khalifa at 2,717 ft. or 828 m.

The view from the top can reveal a lot, particularly the ability to see Earth from a distance. Time and time again, this bird’s eye view has proven to stimulate awe, increase the desire to collaborate, and foster long-term thinking. These feelings are commonly referred to as the Overview Effect, which is promoted by Daily Overview. The team believes they can stimulate a new awareness that will lead to a better future for our one and only home by embracing the perspective that comes from this unique vantage point.
