The ENR Global Best Projects Awards recognize projects which “demonstrate risks and rewards – and hurdles overcome – in designing and building internationally.” This is the tenth year of this awards program, which received a record number of entries with a final selection of 34 winning projects located in 18 different countries. “Judges examined design and construction challenges, benefits to local communities and the industry, as well as dedication to quality, innovation and safety and an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.” Three finalists vied for Project of the Year, which was awarded to Google’s Bay View Campus – a project that was 10 years in the making. The University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) broke ground a few months ago on a long-awaited Behavioral Health Crisis Center. The 48,699-square-foot facility will sit adjacent to the UNM Psychiatric Center and will provide crisis stabilization services with 16 single patient bedrooms. Other space in the center will be dedicated to group therapy and staff support areas, as well as an observation unit. MillerClapperton will fabricate 17,250 square feet of High Pressure Laminate material in three colors for the project.
