Americans flocked to national parks in record numbers over the past two years to take advantage of our country’s most beautiful destinations. They were also some of the few places we could travel to during the pandemic that offered socially distanced experiences by way of the great outdoors. Recommendation: Why so many new buildings are covered in rectangles
Produced By: Phil Edwards for Vox

Building technology has advanced significantly over the past century. There were very few options for exteriors at the turn of the 20th century, but we now have many options for a building’s façade and building enclosure has become an entire field of its own. Join Phil Edwards on his journey to discover why so many new building “are covered in rectangles”, how rainscreens protect the integrity of the structure, and why designers are incorporating these systems into their projects. (Bonus! You’ll also get to see MillerClapperton project, the Fairfield Area Library, where we fabricated 12,400 square feet of High Pressure Laminate material)
