Plans for the new Hospitality Hub campus include a 6,000-square-foot intake facility, multiple greenspaces, a day plaza, and a barrier-free women’s shelter. The new facility increases the capacity to serve Memphians in need of temporary housing and help transitioning out of homelessness.

Each of the 32 bedrooms in the shelter will have two beds with trundles and a semi-private bathroom. Guests will have access to a kitchen, laundry, and family room, while trauma-informed design elements like rounded corners, calming greenspaces, quiet areas, and welcoming colors will be incorporated into the architecture. For this project, MillerClapperton is fabricating and installing 1,800 square feet of Metal Composite Material.

Senior art director for Engineering News-Record, Scott, Hilling, curated the 40 photo contest winners in the most recent issue to “take the reader through a visual narration of the ups and downs many in the industry experienced in 2021.” “Many of us started the year off stuck at home, facing dreary times and tough roads…We faced isolation, with difficult and rough environments to navigate our way through.
