Atlanta took center-stage last week when all eyes were on our hometown city for Super Bowl LIII. While thousands of visitors flocked to see the game, others came to enjoy the festivities leading up to the big event and to take advantage of what Atlanta has to offer. Despite colder than usual weather, the city lived up to its famous southern hospitality and on display were many of its architectural gems. ArchDaily compiled a list of the most notable projects and MillerClapperton is proud to have worked on several of them.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has released a new consensus forecast that predicts nonresidential construction spending to grow by 4.4% through 2019. The AIA Consensus Construction Forecast Panel – consisting of leading economic forecasters – suggests that a broader economic downtown may be materializing over the next 12-24 months, yet healthy gains in the industrial and institutional building sector have contributed to the positive growth projections for 2019. According to the AIA’s chief economist, Kermit Baker, Hon. AIA, PhD, “the economy has been performing well recently, but trends in business confidence scores are red flags that suggest a slowdown is likely in 2020.” Read more here.
