When it comes to new trends in metal construction design, Paul Deffenbaugh, editorial director for Metal Construction News and Metal Architecture, can be considered an expert. While managing three design award programs each year, he has the great privilege of being on the judging panel to discuss the merits and qualities of some of the most exciting architectural designs in the world.
Over the past few years, he and his team have identified a handful of design trends in the metal construction industry. Some elements are not surprising based on the exceptional projects we’ve had the opportunity to be a part of, but there was one point that really caught our attention, and that is the importance of fabricators and installers. At MillerClapperton, we pride ourselves on being ‘The Panel Experts’, but most importantly, we encourage all designers and general contractors to reach out to qualified fabricators. The Metal Construction Association (MCA) is a great resource for additional information, and we encourage you to review the list of MCM premium certified fabricators here.
