What if it’s all a front? French photographer Zacharie Gaudrillot-Roy reimagines buildings as isolated facades in his an ongoing photo-series in which the mass and depth of buildings are removed. What’s left behind is the exterior skin, resembling deserted Hollywood sets that illustrate roadways, towns and other environments. According to Gaudrillot-Roy, this act of surrealism is about how we view and interact with the cities around us. We invite you to take a look at more photos from the series here.

For many of us, there’s a never ending list of books that we’d like to read, but getting around to actually reading them is another story entirely. For those moments when your imagination whisks you off to reading poolside or with your toes in the sand, we’d like to share some recommendations from Archinect. Their 2018 Reading List is based on recommendations from architects and their current favorites. From divided cities to architecture in Germany in the early 20th century, there is truly something for everyone. See the full list here.
