Opening this Fall is the Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute oncology tower at Sarasota Memorial’s main hospital campus. The 8-story tower will have 56 private inpatient suites dedicated to cancer treatment and recovery, the latest treatment and surgical technology, 9 new operating rooms, and a full array of patient navigation, counseling and support services. A rooftop café will crown the tower. For this project, MillerClapperton is fabricating and installing 9,800 square feet of Metal Composite Material and 10,200 square feet of Profiled Single Skin.

Amid health and safety concerns as a result of COVID-19, multifamily housing developers, designers, and builders are navigating new demands from prospective tenants. Early results from the 2021 “Multifamily Amenities Survey” from Design+Construction shows that “they have either modified their amenities, added new ones, implemented amenity innovations, or took out some amenities from their customary offerings” in response to the pandemic. While owners/operators have reported having to close or reduce capacity for common area amenities like pools and recreation facilities, most survey respondents are sticking with what they’ve always provided and believe they will be back.
