To meet growing U.S. infrastructure demands, asset manager BlackRock recently announced a $100 million Future Builders Initiative with the goal of training 50,000 skilled trades workers over five years. Funded by The BlackRock Foundation, the program looks to provide access to skilled trades training, licensure support and financial education to foster long-term economic security during a time when the demand for skilled workers continues to grow.

The second Cobb Innovation and Technology Academy (CITA), located at Allatoona High School, is expected to open next school year. The first CITA opened at Osborne High School and saw its first four-year students graduate in May 2024. The two-story, 74,300-square-foot building allows students to earn industry career certifications and dual credits toward an associate degree. The new academy will provide student pathways in aviation, health care, advanced computing and skilled trades. MillerClapperton is fabricating and installing approximately 20,000 square feet of Metal Composite Material (MCM) panels and 9,000 square feet of Profile Single Skin (PSS) panels for this project.
