#1 THE BENEFITS OF METAL ROOFS

Metal roofing systems are taking the nation by storm, and not just because they are capable of weathering severe storms. They virtually compliment any architectural style, are environmentally sustainable, and they offer the opportunity for long-term savings. Discover the many benefits that metal roofs have to offer in the latest blog from RapidMaterials here.

#2 ROBOTICS IN CONSTRUCTION

The construction industry has been historically known as a slow adopter of technology.  While automating systems and processes sound like a departure from more traditional methods, the current environment of construction business has increased the need for digitization.  A big reason for this recent push for technology is the pressing need for skilled labor.

According to a recent Associated Press story, one company is focused on building machinery that has technology in the driver’s seat.  By using autonomous, common construction vehicles to do mundane, simple jobs, they propose job sites can run more efficiently.  Read more about these and other groundbreaking technologies and the future of construction here.

#3 GOOD ARCHITECTURE & HISTORY

“Whether there are ‘reasons’ for a building being formed or finished in a certain way, the undeniable lens of history is always part of how designers think about what’s to be built.”  A recent article from ArchDaily (in partnership with Common Edge), explores the essential truth of architecture and the basis for design. Rather than creating or shaping history, we delve into architects’ response to history through their work because “no building is created in the vacuum of time.”  In an age when technology and Artificial Intelligence seems imminent, the value in architecture will be the human creativity behind it, which is something technology can not imitate.  Read more here.
