#1 AMERICA’S MOST BEAUTIFUL REST STOPS

We all look forward to summer vacation, that ubiquitous time to take advantage of warm weather and more sunshine thanks to longer days.  If your plans are to hit the road this summer, you are in luck!  Architectural Digest has put together a list of ‘The 15 Most Beautiful Rest Stops in America’.  Whether you are headed for the mountains or the middle of the desert, make sure to plan a visit to one of these amazing destinations (in their own right) and soak up the architectural marvels.  Read more here.

#2 EMBRACING TECHNOLOGY

Last week, we looked at robotics and the need for digitization in the construction industry.  This week, we look at why construction companies should embrace new technology.  In a 2017 study conducted by KPMG, findings showed that even though 72% of the engineering and construction executives surveyed stated that technological innovation played a role in their vision, less than half had a clear strategy in place to integrate those advancements.

The value and necessity of integrating technology is evident, but many haven’t taken the steps to make it a reality.  Among the many benefits of embracing technology for construction companies is reduced onsite accidents, better organized projects, and a more competitive labor pool, all of which can contribute to bigger profits and long-term growth.  In what is considered a slow evolving industry with regards to technology adoption, taking even small steps now can position a company for bigger strategic changes in the future, while helping push the industry forward.  Read about even more benefits here.

#3 7 ICONIC BUILDINGS WITH A DIFFERENT LOOK

Iconic buildings throughout the world are instantly recognizable for their unique architecture and surroundings.  Their very design is what inspires us; drawing visitors from around the globe who flock to get a look at these architectural marvels up close.  In this article from Architecture and Design, the iconic buildings we know and love get redesigned in a different architectural style.  The results are nothing short of astounding.  See more here.
