#2 SETTING PASSWORDS MADE EASY

If you’re like us, you’ve found yourself frustrated trying to remember a password you created…Was it a capital ‘C’ or was the ‘!’ at the beginning or the end, or was it a ‘#’?  With today’s tougher passwords, there are any number of requirements from length to capital and lowercase letters to numbers or even characters.  It all sounds so complicated, but it doesn’t have to be.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology is helping to make our lives easier and they have new recommendations for us to create passwords that are simple to remember and more difficult hack.  Read more here
 


#3 WHERE TO TRAVEL IN 2018

Architectural Digest consulted with industry experts to uncover the best destinations for lovers of design and they compiled a list of their top 20 recommendations for 2018.  Spanning the globe from Asia to Canada and places in between, the list highlights frequently visited destinations and even remote locales.  Read the article to see which two US cities made the magazine’s list.


#4 PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

CenturyLink Technology Center of Excellence

Located in Monroe, LA, the CenturyLink Technology Center of Excellence features a host of sustainable features, including “Smart Building” controls, 100% recyclable carpet and furniture, and a green roof containing 28 varieties of slow-growing vegetation. MillerClapperton is proud to have fabricated 101,746 square feet of Metal Composite Material panels for this state-of-the-art facility.

#5 CURRENT PROJECT

2300 N Street Penthouse
Washington D.C.’s West End neighborhood is experiencing a resurgence and 2300 N Street is positioned at the center of this newly thriving area.  The commercial building features a modern, two-story lobby as well as high-end amenities like a golf simulator, fitness gym and exercise studio; plus, a rooftop terrace where tenants can enjoy sweeping views of the city.  

On the terrace, MillerClapperton fabricated and installed 1,400 square feet of EQUITONE [tectiva] panels using a concealed fastening system.  The color-through nature of these fiber cement panels ensure crisp, monolithic details, which enhanced the streamlined, modern look of this remodeled structure.
