The Optima is a mixed-used project currently under construction on a 4-acre parcel adjacent to Atlanta’s Battery development. Once complete, The Optima will deliver 298 luxury apartments, a rooftop terrace with views overlooking The Battery, a public greenspace, and 7,500 square feet of retail. MillerClapperton will fabricate and install 8,700 square feet of Metal Composite Material for the project, which is expected to open early next year.

Dezeen recently announced 11 winner’s for this year’s Dezeen Awards. Entries were first scored by a jury a 25 leading international architects, and then winners were selected by a master jury this past September. The 11 winners are located in 10 different countries including Australia, Vietnam, UK, Iran, and France. “Winners include Studio Bua for its transformation of a derelict barn into an artist’s studio and holiday home in rural Iceland and Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos for its doughnut-shaped lakeside clubhouse – part of a residential development about two hours from Mexico City.” The 11 winners will now compete to be named overall project winner of the year, which will be announced later this month. Guidebook company Lonely Planet has revealed its 18th annual “Best in Travel” list. The 2023 edition is in a slightly different format than it has been in years past. Rather than a simple list, the destinations are split up into five categories — eat, learn, journey, unwind and connect.” Editors begin working on the list as early as April and after receiving nominated destinations from a wide network of contributors, they work their sources and narrow down the list, which is released annually in November. “As the world opened up after long Covid restrictions, many travelers felt the urge to connect or reconnect with others. One way to do that is by looking into our own backyards. Boise, the capital of Idaho, is home to the biggest Basque community in the world outside of Spain, and made Lonely Planet’s “connect” list this year.”
