Architectural Record recently announced the best recent projects, both built and unbuilt, across 14 categories, for the inaugural Architectural Record Awards. The winning projects included everything from a modular supportive housing complex in Los Angeles to a wheel-shaped Mexican winery constructed from sand-colored concrete to a domed mass-timber theater. Northside Hospital Cherokee recently opened its newest parking deck. At eight stories tall and with more than 1,300 parking spaces, the new parking deck is designed to accommodate the hospital’s growth. The project is part of a larger expansion plan for the hospital, which includes a new medical office building and new patient tower. The new parking deck nearly doubles the campus’ existing capacity to 3,000 parking spaces. For this project, MillerClapperton fabricated and installed 1,300 square feet of Metal Composite Material (MCM) panels and 6,600 square feet of Perforated Plate panels.
