The new Advanced Materials Innovation Complex at Clemson University will be the school’s most technologically advanced facility. The goal is to be the nation’s premier cross-disciplinary advanced materials innovation, education and research enterprise, therefore propelling the three core advanced materials departments—Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering—into the top 20.
The AMIC will drive innovation to create the next-generation workforce of engineers and scientists in the broad areas of advanced manufacturing, energy and health innovation. The 143,000-square-foot building will include cutting-edge research and teaching laboratories, synergistic classrooms and collaborative spaces for exploration and conversation outside the lab and classroom.
The project broke ground in May of last year and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. MillerClapperton will be fabricating and installing 11,000 square feet of Metal Composite Material (MCM); 14,400 square feet of Profiled Metal Panels; and 1,400 square feet of Louvers for the project.
