#1 MILLERCLAPPERTON’S BIRTHDAY

On October 15th, MillerClapperton celebrated its 38th birthday. On this day in 1979, Ted S. Miller and Dave Clapperton founded the company.  What started as an act of faith after leaving H.H. Robertson Co., Ted and Dave put into an action a one-year business plan that was devised from Ted’s kitchen table.

With a clear vision for how to do it better, the MillerClapperton name has come to stand for quality, experience, professionalism and a strong commitment to our customers.  We have been proud to serve as your experts in the wall cladding industry ever since.

#2 THE 6TH ANNUAL TED S. MILLER BLOOD DRIVE

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED OR VOLUNTEERED

October 13th marked the 6th annual Ted S. Miller Memorial Blood Drive here at MillerClapperton, where a record 47 units of blood were donated by our incredible team and close associates. Breaking our previous year’s tally of 35 units, these donations could help as many as 141 people in a medical emergency.

Want to donate? Find a Red Cross drive near you.

A final special thank you to our dedicated team of volunteers who helped to keep the event running smoothly throughout the day, as well as Senior Estimator, Scott Stafford for organizing the blood drive each year.

#3 MATERIAL SPOTLIGHT: FIBER CEMENT

Fiber cement is a composite material that consists of cement, cellulose, and mineral materials, reinforced by a visible matrix. The material encompasses the characteristics of cement, whereas the fibers render its surface textured yet smooth. The panels are extremely color stable and will not fade over time. Each panel is unique, showing the raw texture of the fiber cement base material.

BENEFITS

Prevents Thermal Bridging
Dissipating Solar Gain
Reducing Thermal Movement of the Structure
Resisting Moisture and Humidity
Preventing Internal Condensation

Billye Suber Aaron Pavilion at Morehouse School of Medicine
Located on Westview Drive on the Morehouse School of Medicine’s campus, MillerClapperton has the honor of working on the two-story addition to the Hugh M. Gloster Building, named in honor Hank Aaron’s wife, Billye Suber Aaron.  The Aaron Pavilion is part of Phase I in the school’s four phase “Expansion into the Future Initiative” and was made possible by a $3 million donation from Atlanta Braves baseball legend Henry “Hank” Aaron and a $3 million grant from the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation.  Designed to be the most visible building on campus, MillerClapperton fabricated and installed 5,635 square feet of Reynobond MCM for the project.
