Winners of the Metal Construction Association’s 2023 Design Awards were announced at last week’s METALCON in Las Vegas. Projects were evaluated by a panel of architects and metal construction industry leaders and judged on their overall design excellence, innovative use of metal building products, significance of metal in the overall project. Location: Jacksonville, FL Product: Reynobond FR (MCM) General Contractor: Gilbane Building Company Architect: Zyscovich Inc. A new middle school is under construction on Jacksonville’s Westside and it is Duval County’s first middle school funded with the half-cent sales tax. The school will serve students in sixth through eighth grades with room for 994 total students. Among the planned updates are six new science demo labs and two skills development labs, in addition to a Career and Technical Education Center that will support various learning programs. MillerClapperton will fabricate 500 square feet of Metal Composite Material for the project.
