#2 CONTACT AN EXPERT

No one can be expected to know everything about everything. As a designer, don’t hesitate to reach out to those who are the experts in their trades.  Hear what Nicole Seekely, AIA of Smith Dalia Architects had to say about working with MillerClapperton.

“We come across new materials and products everyday – that’s what makes being an architect so exciting, we get to work with old and new technologies. When something comes across our desk that interests us, it’s great to have a resource to turn to, both on a conceptual and technical level. That’s where fabricators like MillerClapperton are a great resource to have. I can come to them with questions and we can come up with ideas for the best solution for the project. As architects, it’s so valuable to have someone so intimately knowledgeable about the product. It allows us to design better buildings.”

#3 MATERIAL SPOTLIGHT: PLATE ALUMINUM

Solid Plate Aluminum panels are the predecessors of Metal Composite Material panels. They have many benefits that allow for design flexibility and durability. Plate Aluminum panels also have multiple options for fabricated edges (routed, returned, or folded) and corners (welded, ground, or open). Below you will find some of the key benefits of Plate Aluminum panels:

Non-Combustible: Plate Aluminum panels are fabricated out of non-combustible materials, allowing them to be used freely throughout a building without having to worry about fire code concerns.

High Traffic or Impact Areas: The solid makeup of the Plate Aluminum panels make them ideal for areas like entry vestibules or areas close to the ground.

Multiple Finishing Options: Most Plate Aluminum panels are finished after fabrication by a spray coating or anodizing process, allowing for a rainbow of color selections.

#5 CURRENT PROJECT

lilli Midtown
There’s a lot of buzz happening in downtown Atlanta thanks to the newest high-end apartment tower, lilli Midtown.  At the corner of Peachtree and 3rd streets, the unique architectural design is capturing a lot of attention, not to mention its stellar location, just steps from the Fox Theatre.  Once completed, the building will stand 24 stories tall and offer 150 units, a rooftop pool and large club room.

Panels in bone white are accented with charcoal panels to highlight the building’s unique architecture by framing the units, which has been compared to a modern interpretation of a Jenga set.  Installation of the more than 29,000 square feet of panels fabricated by MillerClapperton has begun and the project is slated for completion in 2018.
