The Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley is a new, 200-unit, 5-star resort hotel located Northeast of Phoenix. The 280,000-square-foot resort will offer ballrooms, meeting rooms, a spa, in addition to restaurants and bars with outdoor terraces – all designed to capture the views of Camelback Mountain. The resort serves as the focal point of the adjacent Ritz-Carlton Villas and the high-end retail shopping area. MillerClapperton will fabricate 3,540 square feet of Metal Composite Material for the project.

The Metal Construction Association released its latest whitepaper on MCM best practices for proper surface preparation for stiffener adhesion. One benefit of MCM panels is the ability to deflect under load and return flat after the load is removed. Even with this ability, MCM must meet the deflection requirements defined in the building code. To meet these deflection requirements, MCM panels are generally reinforced using stiffeners adhered to the non-exposed side of the panel. While there are a number of adhesives available for stiffener adhesion, this whitepaper focuses on the two most prominent materials used.
