IN THIS WEEK’S FRIDAY5

Burning Man is back in-person following a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The annual event, which is happening now through September 5th, brings together thousands of burners in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada to celebrate art and music. This year’s festival theme is “Waking Dreams” that will “explore the transformative power of dreams, both literal and figurative, and celebrate the dreamers who channel this potent energy in eye-opening, often surrealistic, sometimes life-changing ways.”

Like previous years, “the desert will be filled with art installations that represent the festival’s theme and showcase dreaming and waking consciousness in their own unique approach.” You can view some of the best installations ever displayed at Burning Man here or check out the first look of the installations and pavilion’s for this year’s festival below.

The building has become the centerpiece of this mixed-use project, which is transforming a former parking lot into housing, greenspace, and community amenities. For the project, MillerClapperton fabricated and installed 11,400 square feet of Fiber Cement totaling more than 600 panels.
