IN THIS WEEK’S FRIDAY5

Last month, architects and design lovers across the globe celebrated World Photography Day. In recognition of this annual event, ArchDaily encouraged its readers who are passionate about the art of photography to submit their images of architecture and the city. More than 400 images of buildings, interiors, and public spaces were captured by more than 130 participants who are both amateur and professional photographers scattered throughout the world. ArchDaily’s editorial team pre-selected 50 photographs and ultimately voted for 25 of the most compelling images. Recommendation: Architecture with Stewart
Topic: 6 Times Architects Made a Building Float

If you’ve been a Friday5 reader for a while, you’ve likely heard us talk about Architecture with Stewart, which is a YouTube channel hosted by Stewart Hicks, an architectural design educator, that “explores architecture’s deep and enduring stories in all their bewildering glory.” In this episode, Hicks takes a close look at architects who brought their designs to floating objects rather than fixed structures. He explores their boat-related work and looks at other architects working with aquatic design including Kunle Adeyami and the +Pool.
